About David Silver, CPT

I pushed myself into the world of fitness later in my life, after spending all my childhood afraid and intimidated by the toxicity of athletics. Gradually, in my 20s and 30s, fitness became a beneficial habit that contributes to my physical health, my emotional happiness, and my sense of personal accomplishment.

I want to pass these benefits on to you by meeting you where you’re at and helping you stay consistent in your journey of self-improvement. I aim to be approachable, friendly, empathetic, and encouraging, especially if you are new to the world of fitness. Beginners are welcome here!

I will never upsell unnecessary or unscientific supplements, procedures, or other bogus products. I’ve never done steroids or engaged in unsafe “hacks” for short-term gains. My certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine has affirmed my commitment to safe, scientific, evidence-based methods that are proven to work.

With my guidance and support, you will evaluate your nutritional intake, build consistent and healthy workout habits, and ultimately reach your personal goals through safe, sustainable lifestyle change. Workout routines will be attuned specifically to your individual needs; measurements tied to specific goals will show improvement over time; and a focus on process and progress over idealized outcomes will set you up for a lifetime of continued health, fitness, and personal growth.

I'm the coach who will guide clients safely towards their goals, and cheer them on every step of the way.

I’m interested in working with anyone interested in improving their physical fitness, but my life experiences have given me the desire to reach people who many not have felt comfortable participating in fitness in the past.

Fitness Newbies: I can relate to those new to fitness because I distinctly remember my own newbie phase as an adult latecomer to the world of fitness. I am a kind, patient, empathetic person who is eager to welcome new faces into the gym, show them the ropes, and help them on their way toward a lifetime of fitness and personal progress. I understand the intimidation and awkwardness of the newbie phase, and I want to be the coach who helps alleviate that fear so that my clients can fall in love with fitness.

Queer People: The world of fitness can be especially intimidating to members of LGBTQIA+ communities. I want to be specifically welcoming to all queer people, especially people who are transgender and/or nonbinary. Fitness is for everyone, and respect for clients' identities is paramount. With me in their corner, I want all my clients to feel confident taking up their space at the gym and enjoying the process.

Gay Men: As a gay man myself, I want to help be a positive queer role model in the world of fitness, and my own personal experiences have made me attuned to the many social pitfalls and insecurities that gay men face in the world. For gay men navigating a traditionally “macho” world like fitness, it’s very important to work with a coach around whom they feel comfortable being themselves. As a role model for queer joy, I want to help other gay men brush off the fear of toxic masculinity in the world of fitness, and claim the emotional and physical health benefits for themselves without falling down the slippery slope of body dysmorphia that is unfortunately prevalent in marketing targeting the gay community.

Women: Just as gay men frequently experience feelings of otherness and intimidation in environments of toxic masculinity, women are too often made to feel uncomfortable or even unsafe at the gym. As a coach, I will always work to be a better feminist ally and make the world of fitness enjoyable and accessible to all women.

People Seeking Behavior Change and Accountability: As someone who is neurodivergent and has struggled with motivation, attention/focus, executive function, impulsiveness, accountability, consistency, and intrinsic rewards, I relate to people who feel like they know in general what they’re supposed to do, but just need a bit of help getting there. As I’ve gained more experience, I’ve learned tactics for building healthy habits, changing unwanted habits, and creating routine within our chaotic world. I will be a friendly accountability coach who checks in, offers structure and guidance, offers behavioral tools for better productivity and consistency, and helps people attain the personal goals that previously felt elusive and frustrating.

Gym-Goers Who Want to Up Their Game: Even for people who have their healthy habits dialed in, we could all use an outside perspective to help us level up. My positive attitude, my fitness education, and my engaging energy might be just what someone needs in a workout buddy to remotivate themselves in the gym and move beyond a plateau.

Older Healthy Adults: As a person at the start of my 40s, I know that fitness will only become more important and beneficial as I age. Whether they’re later-in-life gym newbies or experienced in fitness, I want to develop a reputation for helping people reach their goals at any stage in life. While my current scope of practice is limited to healthy adults, I am very open to working with healthy older adults who are ready to reinvigorate their fitness routine, or start a brand new fitness practice.
